Tricia...
When I was little, my mom took me to the public library every Saturday morning to check out my limit of 25 books. I got to choose whatever I wanted and I spent all week poring over them. I’m pretty sure that was the beginning of my passion for reading. I had so much passion, in fact, that I may have faked sick a few times in elementary school so I could stay home and read.
After 22 years of teaching a variety of grade levels at three different schools, I am now the elementary principal at Hudsonville Christian School. I have my elementary education degree from Calvin College and am working on a master’s degree in educational leadership at Grand Valley State University. I live in Hudsonville with my husband Kevin and Dandelion the cat, who is named after a book character, of course. I no longer fake sick to stay home and read, although it’s tempting sometimes.

Mary Jo...
Before I even started school, I begged my mom to teach me how to write my name. I had heard that if I could write my name, then I could get my own library card. I remember the day I proudly walked into the library declaring that I could write my name and received my treasured library card. I still use that card with my messy, but legible name. That library card helped fuel my love of books and is what brought me to where I am today.
I am a PreK-5 teacher librarian at Hudsonville Christian School. I received my elementary education degree from Calvin College and am currently working toward a master's degree in library and informational sciences through Wayne State University. In addition to reading, I enjoy traveling, theater, and the Detroit Red Wings. I live in Holland, Michigan, and am a proud Alumni Dutch Dancer during our annual Tulip Time Festival.
